Bitten, bad...

I'm in so much trouble! I have a buddy needing to sell his 2007 FZ1 quick for what he owes on it and I have the go-ahead from the wife given that I would sell the ZRX in the near future. I would HAVE to do the naked mod first off as I really can't stand the stock fairing and headlight setup. I would really miss the storage area below the ZRX seat though.

    There's a couple of mods you have to do right out of the box. Search the FZ1 board for FCE and you should find plenty of info. Here's the thread I already have marked. Basically it's a wiring mod to help the fuel injection system. Supposedly it's a very simple mod.

    I read some crazy numbers, like how it increased the rigidity of the frame by something like 60%.

    Dick and I have had this conversation actually. Awesome horsepower when you get the bugs worked out of the fuel injection with those basic mods. But then Dick pointed out that you'll likely miss the torque of the Rex. Reviewers had to point that out....that you need to run higher RPMs to get full use of the power. Not like sport bike high revs, but higher than you'd prefer in a naked standard.

    I personally LOVE the freakin' bike. I had never seen the naked mod either. Very cool.

    Then again...you could wait and see if they incorporate the crossplane crankshaft technology from the new R1 into the FZ1. Smoother power delivery from the 270-180-90-180 degree uneven firing intervals. A boy can dream, can't he?

    I think I have seen that exact same post before. I remember the pointy hand icons. Looks very simple. I imagine if you can change a flasher relay, you could do the mod. I'm sure Dick could help you with it.
